Em ingl\u00eas, quando queremos dizer que alguma coisa existe (ou n\u00e3o) em um lugar ou tempo usamos there<\/em> + to be<\/em>. Voc\u00ea j\u00e1 deve ter ouvido as express\u00f5es there is<\/em> e there are<\/em> e talvez se perguntado o que significam. Ambas t\u00eam a mesma fun\u00e7\u00e3o de indicar a exist\u00eancia de algo, com a diferen\u00e7a de que o primeiro \u00e9 usado no singular e o segundo no plural.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Para entender melhor o por que disso e como usar, separamos alguns pontos importantes e trouxemos MUITOS exemplos para voc\u00ea. Mas n\u00e3o se preocupe, pois usar o there+be<\/em> \u00e9 simples:<\/span><\/h3>\n

  • Podemos usar o \u201cthere<\/em>\u201d com todos os tempos verbais do verbo \u201cto be<\/em>\u201d:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    There is a bathroom over there, it\u2019s easy to find<\/em> (H\u00e1 um banheiro ali, \u00e9 f\u00e1cil de achar)<\/span><\/p>\n

    There are many students who don\u2019t know how to park their cars properly<\/em> (H\u00e1 muitos estudantes que n\u00e3o sabem como estacionar seus carros devidamente)<\/span><\/p>\n

    Will the be a flight at 5am?<\/em> (Haver\u00e1 um v\u00f4o \u00e0s 5 da manh\u00e3?)<\/span><\/p>\n

    There won\u2019t be dessert tonight<\/em> (N\u00e3o haver\u00e1 sobremesa hoje \u00e0 noite)<\/span><\/p>\n

    • Costumamos usar there<\/em> + be<\/em> com palavras indefinidas como <\/span>a \/ an \/ some \/ any \/ no \/ much \/ many \/ a lot of<\/em>\u00a0 e outras. N\u00e3o se usa a express\u00e3o com nomes pr\u00f3prios ou com o pronome definido \u201cthe<\/em>\u201d: <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      There\u2019s Mary inside the building<\/em> (H\u00e1 Mary dentro do pr\u00e9dio) INCORRETO<\/span><\/p>\n

      • Cuidado ao tentar traduzir as frases do portugu\u00eas para o ingl\u00eas! Em nossa l\u00edngua materna, quando queremos dizer que alguma coisa existe sob alguma condi\u00e7\u00e3o, usamos – erroneamente, do ponto de vista gramatical – o verbo “ter”. Por exemplo: Tem<\/strong> muitas plantas nessa regi\u00e3o. \u00c9 por isso que, muitas vezes, vemos falantes do portugu\u00eas dizendo coisas como: Have a girl that I like on this show!<\/em> (Tem uma garota que eu gosto nesse programa de tv). Nunca veremos um falante nativo do ingl\u00eas falando assim, at\u00e9 porque o “have” \u00e9 um verbo e, portanto, precisa de um pronome. \u00c9 por isso que nesse artigo tratamos o there is<\/em> como “h\u00e1” e o melhor \u00e9 que voc\u00ea tente memorizar assim.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        • Para dizer que alguma coisas N\u00c3O existe, precisamos apenas acrescentar o not<\/em> depois de there+be<\/em>. Veja os exemplos das frases negativas:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
