Voc\u00ea j\u00e1 deve ter ouvido as express\u00f5es <em>there is<\/em> e <em>there are<\/em> e talvez se perguntado o que significam. Ambas t\u00eam a mesma fun\u00e7\u00e3o de indicar a exist\u00eancia de algo, com a diferen\u00e7a de que o primeiro \u00e9 usado no singular e o segundo no plural.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Para entender melhor o por que disso e como usar, separamos alguns pontos importantes e trouxemos MUITOS exemplos para voc\u00ea. N\u00e3o se usa a express\u00e3o com nomes pr\u00f3prios ou com o pronome definido \u201c<em>the<\/em>\u201d: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>There\u2019s a dog on campus<\/em> (H\u00e1 um cachorro no campus) CORRETO<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>There\u2019s the dog on campus<\/em> (H\u00e1 o cachorro no campus) INCORRETO<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>There\u2019s a girl inside the building<\/em> (H\u00e1 uma garota dentro do pr\u00e9dio) CORRETO<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>There\u2019s Mary inside the building<\/em> (H\u00e1 Mary dentro do pr\u00e9dio) INCORRETO<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cuidado ao tentar traduzir as frases do portugu\u00eas para o ingl\u00eas! Em nossa l\u00edngua materna, quando queremos dizer que alguma coisa existe sob alguma condi\u00e7\u00e3o, usamos &#8211; erroneamente, do ponto de vista gramatical &#8211; o verbo &#8220;ter&#8221;. Por exemplo: <em><strong>Tem<\/strong> muitas plantas nessa regi\u00e3o. \u00c9 por isso que, muitas vezes, vemos falantes do portugu\u00eas dizendo coisas como: Have a girl that I like on this show!<\/em> (Tem uma garota que eu gosto nesse programa de tv). Nunca veremos um falante nativo do ingl\u00eas falando assim, at\u00e9 porque o &#8220;have&#8221; \u00e9 um verbo e, portanto, precisa de um pronome. \u00c9 por isso que nesse artigo tratamos o<em> there is<\/em> como &#8220;h\u00e1&#8221; e o melhor \u00e9 que voc\u00ea tente memorizar assim.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Have a cat under the table!
