Confuso? Vamos facilitar para voc\u00ea!<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Verbos s\u00e3o palavras que cont\u00eam o sentido das a\u00e7\u00f5es, processo e estado e, em uma frase, servem como n\u00facleo (pois indicam o que est\u00e1 acontecendo).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Preposi\u00e7\u00f5es s\u00e3o utilizadas para estabelecer rela\u00e7\u00e3o entre dois elementos dentro de uma frase. Por exemplo: Igor apresentou seu trabalho <\/span><b>com<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> entusiasmo (apresentou e entusiasmo s\u00e3o as partes da ora\u00e7\u00e3o ligadas pela preposi\u00e7\u00e3o com).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adv\u00e9rbios modificam verbos, adjetivos ou at\u00e9 mesmo outros adv\u00e9rbios &#8211; acrescentam nuances ou circunst\u00e2ncias.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maria chegou <\/span><b>ontem<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Nesse caso, por exemplo, o ontem especifica o tempo em que a a\u00e7\u00e3o ocorreu.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ele fez a tarefa<\/span><b> alegremente<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A palavra \u201calegremente\u201d indica o <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">modo<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> como a a\u00e7\u00e3o foi executada.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00c9 importante sabermos como os <em>phrasal verbs<\/em> s\u00e3o formados primeiramente para conseguirmos reconhec\u00ea-los. Mas, tamb\u00e9m, porque quando entendemos uma estrutura, ganhamos mais autonomia para us\u00e1-la.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Bom, agora que j\u00e1 entendemos do ponto de vista sint\u00e1tico o que s\u00e3o os Phrasal Verbs, vamos \u00e0s suas principais caracter\u00edsticas:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2192 O mais importante a respeito dos <em>phrasal verbs<\/em> \u00e9 saber que devemos analisar cada um deles como uma unidade &#8211; n\u00e3o importa qual verbo, preposi\u00e7\u00e3o ou adv\u00e9rbio o comp\u00f5e, ele ter\u00e1 um sentido pr\u00f3prio e independente.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Por exemplo, o verbo \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">call<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d significa <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ligar<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Off <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00e9 um termo que pode ser usado como preposi\u00e7\u00e3o de lugar ou adv\u00e9rbio indicador do estado de alguma coisa (se est\u00e1 ligado ou desligado, por exemplo). Agora, o <em>phrasal verb &#8220;<\/em><\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">call off&#8221;<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> significa cancelar ou suspender.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The show was called off because of the bad weather<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (O show foi cancelado por causa do mau tempo)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Notou como o sentido de <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">call off<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00e9 muito distante daquele de seu verbo base &#8220;<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to call&#8221;<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">? \u00c9 por isso que nunca devemos tentar traduzir os <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">phrasal verbs<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> literalmente, palavra por palavra; porque eles costumam adquirir no\u00e7\u00f5es independentes que muito diferem das palavras que as comp\u00f5em em si.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2192 Os <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">phrasal verbs<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> s\u00e3o flexionados normalmente quanto ao tempo verbal e ao sujeito. Veja o exemplo com o <em>phrasal verb<\/em> \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">get up<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d (levantar-se)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I <\/span><\/i><b><i>get up <\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">everyday at 6am.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She <\/span><\/i><b><i>gets up<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at 8am.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">John <\/span><\/i><b><i>got up<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at noon today!<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I was <\/span><\/i><b><i>getting up<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> when the phone rang.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>\u2192 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Phrasal verbs<\/em> podem ser transitivos ou intransitivos:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">verbos transitivos t\u00eam sentido incompleto e, por isso, precisam de um complemento (que chamamos objeto direto ou indireto)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My mom gave me a purse<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Minha m\u00e3e me deu uma bolsa &#8211; se tiv\u00e9ssemos dito apenas \u201c<em>My mom gave me<\/em>\u201d, a frase n\u00e3o comunicaria nada: \u201cminha m\u00e3e me deu\u201d, certo, mas deu o qu\u00ea?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">verbos intransitivos n\u00e3o precisam de complemento algum (apesar de poderem ter), pois comunicam a mensagem por si s\u00f3 (t\u00eam sentido completo). Desse modo, n\u00e3o s\u00e3o seguidos de objeto direto ou indireto:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anna left <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Anna foi embora)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anna left at 8 <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Anna foi embora \u00e0s 8)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Por que \u00e9 importante saber disso? Bom, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">phrasal verbs<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> que s\u00e3o transitivos podem ser <\/span><b>separ\u00e1veis<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ou <\/span><b>n\u00e3o<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Os intransitivos, s\u00e3o sempre <\/span><b>insepar\u00e1veis<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>Inseparable phrasal verbs:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">S\u00e3o aqueles em que n\u00e3o podemos colocar nada entre o verbo a part\u00edcula (adv\u00e9rbio ou preposi\u00e7\u00e3o):<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I want to be a teacher when I <\/span><\/i><b><i>grow up<\/i><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Eu quero ser um professor quando eu crescer)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I <\/span><\/i><b><i>got up<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at 10am today. Never felt so rested!<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Acordei \u00e0s 10h hoje. Nunca me senti t\u00e3o descansada!)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Em ambos os casos (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">grow up<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> e <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">get up<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) os <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">phrasal verbs<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> s\u00e3o intransitivos e insepar\u00e1veis.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I <\/span><\/i><b><i>care about <\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jenna<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Eu me importo com a Jenna)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">J\u00e1 esse \u00e9 um caso em que o <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">phrasal verb<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00e9 transitivo, mas tamb\u00e9m insepar\u00e1vel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>Separable phrasal verbs:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No caso dos separ\u00e1veis, podemos optar por deixar o verbo e a part\u00edcula juntos ou n\u00e3o. A \u00fanica obrigatoriedade se d\u00e1 quando o complemento do verbo for um pronome &#8211; nesse caso, ele deve vir entre o verbo e a preposi\u00e7\u00e3o\/adv\u00e9rbio:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can\u2019t <\/span><\/i><b><i>take back<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> everything you said to her<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Voc\u00ea n\u00e3o pode retirar\/voltar atr\u00e1s tudo o que voc\u00ea disse para ela)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can\u2019t<\/span><\/i><b><i> take<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> this <\/span><\/i><b><i>back<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Voc\u00ea n\u00e3o pode retirar isso\/voltar atr\u00e1s nisso)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take back<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00e9 um <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">phrasal verb<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> transitivo, que precisa de complemento. Uma vez que substitu\u00edmos o objeto \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">everything you said to her<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d\u00a0 pelo pronome \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">this<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d, o verbo deve vir separado.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O \u00fanico modo de saber se os <a href=\"https:\/\/idiomus.com\/blog\/verbos-em-ingles\/\"><strong>verbos em ingl\u00eas<\/strong><\/a> s\u00e3o transitivos ou intransitivos (e, portanto, separ\u00e1veis ou n\u00e3o) \u00e9 conhecendo-os. Por isso, \u00e9 um daqueles que vale \u00e0 pena ser estudado mais a fundo. Seria \u201cdar uma passadinha\u201d:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I might <\/span><\/i><b><i>call by<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on my way to work today<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Eu posso passar a\u00ed no caminho para o trabalho hoje)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Call up<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; esse \u00e9 o que mais se parece com o sentido original de \u201c<em>to call<\/em>\u201d.
